Superman Diver

Little J grew fins overnight! Or maybe he just snuck into Daddy's new body surfing fins. Either way, he looks so totally awesome!

Swim Lesson Update

Little J is working hard in his swim lessons. They switched him to a new teacher and he's really progressing. She's kind, but firm and keeps him from goofing around too much. :)

In this clip, he's practicing "rocket arm" with kicks. He goes all the way across the pool.


In this clip, he's practicing his freestyle arm strokes with kicks. He needs to bring his arms out of the water with each stroke. He's picking it up quickly!


 In this clip, he's practicing his knee dives and going straight into freestyle arm strokes. He's still belly-flopping but he loves it!

Ninja!

Wearing Daddy's surfing hoodie, I can hardly tell who this Ninja is! He crept around all day, fighting crime, keeping us safe. Thanks, Ninja!

Waterfront Adventure Walk

Little J and I had the afternoon to ourselves. Instead of driving down to a regular, old, park I was in the mood for a little bit more adventure. I remember going on explorations as a kid and loving it. We drove down to the waterfront, then walked along the shoreline for almost a mile. The tide was really, really low so we were able to walk along passages that would normally be underwater. We even explored a little island! We felt a million miles away from home, even though it was just a 5 minute drive.

Reading a Sentence!

Little J read his first sentence! He was a little nervous when I started filming but he pushed forward and did so well. We're so proud of him.

Seed Planting

Today in school we learned about seeds and how they grow. We watched a cool time lapse video of a seed growing roots and sprouting. J created a diagram of a plant (seed, roots, stem) and labeled it. Then we planted our own seeds in mini greenhouses.

Little J Goes Jumping!

We had a blast at the indoor trampoline park yesterday! There are over 20 extra-large trampolines, all connected together so we could jump from one end of the gym to the other. Plus, there are large pits full of foam cubes so we could practice our flips and super jumps!

First Time Surfing

Took Little J to Pacifica today to try out his surfboard. He was soooooo excited to get in the water. He loves his little wetsuit and booties. He thinks he's Batman! The first few waves he almost stood up, but not quite. Then he took a nosedive and had his first tumble in the waves and wasn't sure if he wanted to go back out. But we're so proud that he did!

Gymnastics Camp

I enrolled J in a gymnastics camp that his friend, Emma, was taking. We go for 3 hours in the afternoon to a local gymnastics studio for free play and organized gymnastics games. He had a really good time!

 

Skate / Bike Park

We have an awesome skate park here that allows bike riding on Tuesdays. J is fearless and loves challenging himself. Even though he never fell, I'm so glad he has a full-face helmet!

1st Beach Day!!!!!!

Today we took J to the beach with us for the first time! It was so much fun! First, we stopped by Wise Surf Shop and bought him his own, tiny wetsuit and booties to keep him warm. He was super stoked! He thinks he look just like Batman now!

It was so great watching him at the beach - boundless energy! He ran, jumped, tumbled and played for hours!
